Dominican Contemplative Nuns tell how God called them

Vocation
To commemorate the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the first monastery of Dominican nuns by St Dominic at Prouilhe, France in 1206, the Association of the Monasteries of Nuns of the Order of Preachers of the United States of America sponsored the publication of this wonderful account of 23 vocation stories.

To quote from the Preface: “Its hope is to aid those discerning a call to the monastic life, to recall the ‘first love’ of those who have chosen it, and to raise awareness of Dominican contemplative life.”

Fr Dominic Izzo OP, Provincial of St Joseph’s Province US comments: “These testimonies are not a history of the past rather they give confidence to all in the present who have the courage to accept God’s invitation to Himself. Indeed God has done great things. This book reminds all of us that God is still doing great things.”
