Monastery News: October
We started the month by hosting the AGM of the ‘Associated Monasteries of Ireland’ (representing those Orders that have only one monastery in Ireland, such as ourselves). The topic for this year’s meeting was ‘Interculturality in Monastic Communities’ by Sr Chinyeaka C. Ezeani MSHR. Her interesting and helpful presentation was much appreciated, given the growing diversity of our Communities. She has a wealth of experience in this area and has written extensively on the topic. Her newly published book “Interculturality in Religious Life – A Blessing in Different Colours” would be well worth reading.

In continuation of the work that has been going on over the past year (see our Facebook post of the 9th of April) on the formation of an official Association of the Dominican Monasteries of our Region (the Polish, German, Czech and English speaking Dominican Monasteries in Europe), the Prioresses of the Region met in Poland in the second week of October to discuss and finalize the proposed Statutes of our Association. It was a very fruitful meeting and we thank God for the gift of unity that we enjoy with our Sisters.

As you may have noticed from the various Posts and videos of recent weeks, October was the month of the Holy Rosary. So we have been quite busy preparing these in order to promote the Rosary. In fact, since the videos took much long longer to prepare than we had expected there are actually a few more Rosary videos in the pipeline. So watch this space.
This month we were also busy with the production of our Christmas Candles, which will be on sale from now on from our Reception (or they can be ordered using the general Contact Form on our website).

Finally, we have been preparing our 2020 Calendar, which is just about ready to send to the printers.
